Nurse Rachael Prior

Pflegedfachfrau (CH), BSc.(Hons) Professional Studies (Nursing)

Nurse Rachael Prior is British trained and specialised in intensive care nursing with a BSc.(Hons) in Nursing Science. She has worked as a Clinical Sister in critical care nursing and was part of a hospital outreach team whose aim was to reduce incidents of on hospital cardiac arrests.

Interested in global health issues, Rachael has twice volunteered as a nurse with the charity Mercy Ships. Travelling to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, she has used her nursing experience in a number of resource poor communities. She continued to advocate for Mercy Ships UK  as a volunteer speaker for over ten years.

Rachel now lives in Switzerland, where from 2016 – 2022 she worked as a cover school nurses for the International School of Basel. She joined HealthFirst in 2019, and is both a First Aid trainer, qualified to teach the first aid element of the Swiss Driver’s Licence and an ensa Mental Health First Aid trainer.

Additionally, Rachael is responsible for the pastoral support of teenagers and young adults, working with the Crossroads International Church Basel.
