Hands-Only CPR Advert Is Saving Lives
People who have been on our Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support courses will have heard us say that CPR can save lives. Here is testimony to that.
Some of you may have seen the television adverts in the UK made by the British Heart Foundation starring ex-footballer, now actor, Vinnie Jones. The adverts are a brilliant public health message about how easy it is to give hands-only CPR and about how this is not something to be afraid of. If you haven’t seen the adverts, then take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILxjxfB4zNk
And to prove that CPR does really work, listen to the story of Alan Linton who was saved by his friends on the golf course when they put into practice what they had learnt from Vinnie.
Remember, hands-only CPR is great but if you do know how to give rescue breaths as well as chest compressions, then this will give the best outcome for the person that you are helping, especially if that person is a child.
Join our Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation course in March to learn how to give effective CPR, how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, how to recognise the symptoms of a heart attack or stroke and the First Aid should you suspect them, and much more….
We can all be lifesaving rescuers!
