Meet the Team – Nurse Sue Britain

Introducing Nurse Sue Britain, HealthFirst Trainer

When did you start working for HealthFirst and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I began working for HealthFirst in January 2023, and what I enjoy most is meeting new people and supporting them to gain skills and confidence in their own ability to perform basic life-saving techniques.

What do you do when you are not working?

I support local English-speaking people in Bern, providing care in their own homes. Every day is different, with some spent helping new parents adjust to life with their newborns, while others involve supporting elderly clients, with or without early dementia, to maintain their independence.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, catching up with friends, travelling, and swimming in our local Aare river during the summer months.

What is your guilty pleasure?

It has to be staying up too late on the weekends and binge-watching just one more episode of a great new TV series with my family!

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would have advised myself to learn the German language from an early age, when my brain was more like a sponge than a sieve!
