Health Advice For Your Summer Travels…

18th July 2013

Whether you are staying in beautiful Switzerland for your holidays this Summer or you are travelling to more exotic climes, it is important that you consider your health before you go and also that you are prepared to deliver some basic First Aid whilst you are away if needed.

The Swiss website www.safetravel.ch has lots of travel advice and information and is available in both French and German. It includes vaccinations and special precautions needed when travelling to various countries around the world it also has a list of travel medicine clinics in the different Swiss cantons where you can be vaccinated and get travel health advice.

If you need something in English, a good source is wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/ This is the Travelers’ Health section of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

I have also done some previous radio shows on World Radio Switzerland covering various Summer Health topics which may be on interest:

Dealing with duck fleas and other Summer insects

First Aid Kit for Summer and reducing your risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis

Beating jet lag and motion sickness while on the go

If you would like to buy one of our HealthFirst First Aid Kits to use as a basis for your Summer holiday First Aid Kit, then click here for more details, BUT HURRY, our First Aid Kit distribution office will be closed from Monday 22nd July until Monday 12th August.
