During this hands-on training, we will cover:
- A step-by-step approach to follow in a medical emergency involving your baby or child
- Calling for emergency help in Switzerland and what to say
- Recognising and managing life-threatening bleeding and shock
- Basic wound care and the first aid for nosebleeds
- Sprains and broken bones: telling the difference; how to make an arm sling
- When to consider a spinal injury and what to do
- Head injuries: when should I worry if my child hits their head?
- Burns first aid
- Accidental poisoning: when to call the poisoning information line; when to call an ambulance
- Asthma: recognising a severe attack; understanding how to help
- Recognising serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and learning how to use an EpiPen™
This course is delivered in English both online and face-to-face in one of our training locations throughout Switzerland. Choose which way of learning is most suitable to your needs.
For online courses, the price includes two participants from the same household. Fees also include a triangular bandage and crepe bandage for use during the training, allowing you to practise the skills learnt. The bandages are yours to keep.
