The Story of HealthFirst: Empowering Health Education Since 2012

11th December 2024

In 2012, HealthFirst was founded by two British-trained doctors, Dr. Michelle Wright and Dr. Penny Fraser, who shared a mission to provide high-quality, English-speaking first aid training and health education in the Lake Geneva region. Their vision was clear: empower people with life-saving skills and essential health knowledge in a language they understood.

As HealthFirst grew, so did the team and its reach. In 2018, Dr. Penny Fraser stepped away to pursue other ventures, and in 2019, Dr. Mecky McNeil joined as our Mental Health and Well-being Director, expanding our focus to include mental health and resilience training.

Today, we are proud to have a dedicated team of experienced healthcare professionals – doctors, nurses, and midwives – delivering expert training and education across Switzerland and globally. And to be backed by our tireless administrative team making all this possible.

As 2024 draws to a close, we are thrilled to celebrate a major milestone: 20,000 people trained. From families and schools to corporations and international organisations, each individual trained represents a step towards safer, healthier communities.

Our journey is fuelled by a passion for education and a belief in the power of preparedness and prevention. Whether in person or online, HealthFirst continues to innovate, staying true to our vision while evolving to meet the needs of our diverse audience. Together, we are making health education accessible, engaging, and empowering for everyone.

Here’s to the next chapter of saving lives and spreading knowledge. Thank you for being part of our story!
