Introducing Midwife Mags Sheldon, HealthFirst Senior Trainer

When did you start working for HealthFirst and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I first started working for HealthFirst in April 2015.

I enjoy my job as a First Aid & CPR trainer and a Relationship & Sex Education teacher because it’s rewarding to equip people with practical skills and knowledge they can genuinely use. Helping others feel more prepared and informed, whether it’s in an emergency or in understanding relationships, makes the work meaningful and engaging. It’s a role where I can see the positive impact of what I do in real time.

What do you do when you are not working?

I am passionate about the performing arts and have been singing in, writing, producing, and directing musicals in Switzerland for over 25 years. Musical theatre is not only a creative outlet that brings me joy but also plays a significant role in supporting my mental well-being.

What is your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is the TV show Below Deck. I know it’s considered trash TV, but I can’t help loving it!

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I’d tell my younger self to trust the process and not be afraid to take risks. It’s okay to not have everything figured out right away—life is a journey, not a race.
